Role of ACDA
As an incorporated, not-for-profit community organisation, ACDA serves as an umbrella for community organisations aiming to make a positive impact in the greater Augusta area. Our role involves ensuring that the activities of sub-committees align with ACDA’s constitution, vision, and values. By providing oversight and support, we help community groups navigate their projects and initiatives in a way that benefits the community as a whole.
Responsibilities and Functions
At ACDA, we take on various responsibilities to facilitate the success of community initiatives operating under our umbrella. Some of our key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring that the activities of sub-committees fall within ACDA’s organisational framework and values.
- Overseeing the requirements of an incorporated organisation to ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Providing necessary insurances for sub-committee groups, including public liability, professional, personal injury, and workcover as required.
- Acting as a sounding board and advisor to sub-committees, offering guidance and support in decision-making processes.
- Serving as a conduit to the Community Representatives Group, AMR Shire, and other relevant organisations to foster collaboration and communication.
