Welcome to ACDA
Welcome to the heart of Augusta Community Development Association’s (ACDA) efforts – community engagement. At ACDA, we are dedicated to fostering a strong sense of community, inclusivity, and collaboration within the greater Augusta area. Here’s a breakdown of how we engage with the community to create a positive impact:
In essence, community engagement at ACDA is about listening, communicating, and collaborating with residents, organisations, and government agencies to create a thriving and inclusive community in Augusta. We believe that by working together and valuing the input of all community members, we can achieve positive outcomes that benefit everyone.
Community Representatives Group
The Community Representatives Group (CRG) was established to provide a unified voice for the diverse Augusta community. Comprising representatives from various community organisations, the CRG collaborates with the AMR Shire executive and Council to address community concerns, advocate for projects, and seek strategies to enhance community infrastructure. By engaging with stakeholders and seeking feedback, the CRG works towards improving the overall well-being of the greater Augusta community.
Greater Augusta
Our focus is on making Augusta a beautiful, environmentally conscious, and welcoming place for all. We work behind the scenes to ensure that development in the area aligns with the unique character and environment of Augusta. By providing feedback on shire policies, observing community developments, and identifying gaps in infrastructure and services, we strive to protect and enhance the essence of Augusta for current and future generations.
Community Sounding Board
As one of the unofficial community sounding boards of Taalinup Augusta, ACDA acts as a bridge between the community and external agencies. We communicate with residents to understand their needs, values, and concerns, ensuring that their voices are heard in decision-making processes. Through traditional media, social media platforms, and community networks, we keep the community informed and gather valuable feedback to guide our initiatives.
Augusta Region Network Building
We strive to build a strong network of community members, stakeholders, and key individuals who share our vision for community development in Augusta. By seeking members from a broad spectrum of the community and keeping in touch with key influencers, we aim to establish a robust communication network that facilitates information sharing and collaboration.
Media Outreach and Networking
ACDA utilises various media channels to reach out to the community and keep residents informed about our initiatives and projects. We engage with the community through platforms such as the Pelican Post, Facebook, 2Oceans FM, emails, online surveys, AMR Times, and the Greater Augusta grapevine. By leveraging these channels, we aim to keep people in the loop with our activities, gather feedback, and maintain open lines of communication with residents.
