About us
Welcome to
AC*DA
We like to call ourselves Acca Dacca, jokingly, of course!
Welcome to Augusta Community Development Association (ACDA), where community-driven initiatives and collaboration are at the core of our mission. Here’s a closer look at who we are and what we stand for:
Introduction
At ACDA, we are a not-for-profit community organization dedicated to making greater Augusta a vibrant, inclusive, and safe place to live and visit. Our values are rooted in activities and infrastructure that enhance the quality of life in Augusta, fostering a sense of belonging and connection among residents.
CONTACT USObjectives & Methodology
Our objectives are clear and focused on identifying and evaluating the ecological, social, physical, and economic needs of the Augusta community. Through the creation of subcommittees and workgroups, we aim to address these needs by nurturing, developing, and improving Augusta as a desirable place for all. Our methodology involves community consultation, project implementation based on feedback, and oversight of emerging community interests.
In simpler terms, we listen to the community, observe what’s happening in the region, and work towards better outcomes by engaging with residents, addressing community needs, and enhancing the overall quality of life in Augusta.
At ACDA, we believe that by working together and aligning our efforts with the values and aspirations of the community, we can create a positive impact that enriches the lives of everyone in greater Augusta. Join us on this journey of community development and collaboration for a brighter future.
Organisational Structure
Overview
ACDA’s structure has evolved organically since its inception in 1995. As a progress association and an umbrella organization, ACDA plays a pivotal role in coordinating and facilitating activities that contribute to the well-being of the Augusta community. Our structure includes subcommittees and focal groups that focus on specific activities and infrastructure needs.
Subcommittees and Focal Groups
Our subcommittees have formed around specific objectives and projects that align with ACDA’s overall mission. These groups address a range of community needs, from environmental research to public art initiatives. Each subcommittee reports periodically to the ACDA committee, ensuring that activities are in line with the organization’s goals and objectives.
In 2021, we conducted a review of our structure to identify gaps in community needs and brainstorm ideas to address them. This ongoing process allows us to adapt and evolve to meet the changing needs of the Augusta community effectively.
In essence, ACDA’s organisational structure is designed to be flexible, responsive, and community-focused. By fostering collaboration and engagement among subcommittees, focal groups, and the broader community, we strive to create a cohesive and impactful approach to community development in greater Augusta.
